[It's Valentines Day and Sayaka is certainly feeling the spirit of the holiday. Whenever Ishimaru comes back to his room, he'll find a plate that's neatly wrapped up in red cellophane and tied with a white bow. Besides the package, there's a neatly hand written note:]
Happy Valentines Day, Ishimaru-kun!
I hope that you have a wonderful day. I'm really thankful that you are here in this strange place with me. Let's continue to work hard together!
PS. I hope you like the riceballs. ♡
❤ Sayaka Maizono
[When he opens the package, the plate is filled with various valentines daycookies with different flavors such as chocolate and vanilla.
Alongside the cookies, there's a small japanese bento and inside there are several homemade heart shaped rice balls.]
[Ishimaru is touched by the message and the treats, and he spends a few minutes afterwards being moved to tears. He will be sure to eat those rice balls for lunch and then plots out a schedule for making his way through the cookies without ruining his diet.
He will be sure to return the favor on White Day! But he feels the need to honor this in some way in the meantime, so he ends up leaving a very formal thank you letter at her own door later on.]
[Even with all the awkward tension that was in the air since the arrival of Mondo, Sayaka still doesn't forget about Ishimaru's birthday. On his birthday, he'll find several things left in front of his door. A cute homemade cake. Three bento boxes filled with all sorts of Japanese food. Alongside the animal riceballs will also be a few heart shaped rice balls thrown in. In a huge wrapped up box is a Kendo bogu bag that is shaped like a backpack and upon closer inspection, the bag has the kanji for "Public Morals" stitched onto it. Inside the other smaller box will be an assortment of notebooks for studying, alongside a few Japanese history drama dvds.
Attatched on the bentos is a note that was written on pink frilly stationary.]
Dear Ishimaru-kun
Happy Birthday! ♥ It's a pleasure to be able to celebrate your birthday today. I still can't believe that we have been here for over seven months!! It's a little scary but we've made a lot of nice memories and because of that, I can honestly say that it's been some of the best times of my life.
I'm really blessed that I got to meet you and I can't thank you enough for everything that you've done for me. Your support means so much to me and without you, I don't think I would have been able to grow into the person that I am now. Not only that, you are a good influence on everyone else too. I hope that you have a wonderful birthday that's filled with nothing but the best. Seeing you smile is enough to make me happy and I wish you nothing but everlasting happiness, Kiyotaka.
With love, Sayaka Maizono ♡
PS. Whenever you are free, do you want to go out and eat sushi one day? :D We should celebrate this day!
[ When Ishimaru steps out of his room, he'll see messily-wrapped package by the side of his door. Inside, there's a three-tier desk organiser (1, 2) where he can put his writing tools, notepads, and the like. In one of the boxes, there's a card that says: "Merry Christmas. - M" There are also seven wooden pieces in a plastic, which includes a paper that says: "It's a puzzle. Try to assemble them into this. [Drawing of a cube.]" ]
(Sitting outside his door one morning is a small box, no label. Inside is a data storage device containing several documentaries Legion has stored in their memory. The knowledge is basically useless outside of the Mass Effect universe, but it's interesting?)
[ Whenever Ishimaru steps out, he'll find a neatly wrapped package dressed up in red paper. Inside, he'll find a handknitted red scarf and a Japanese themed wrist watch. Besides the present is also a white box that's filled with homemade christmas cupcakes. On top of the cupcakes, there's a cute holiday themed card from Sayaka written in pink ink. ]
Merry Christmas, Kiyotaka-kun! I hope you have a happy holiday. ♥
[Another present is there! Inside are basic textbooks for students to help his studies - English, History, Math, etc. Plus a slice of Christmas cake! Comes with a note.]
Merry Christmas, Ishimaru. Thank you for always being so nice to me.
[And here is another gift! This one seems to be guide on improving your social skills. How... Nice? The person who wrapped this didn't bother to write his name on the card, but he did leave a note.]
Merry Christmas! I hope you find this book useful.
P.S. Your mirror's a slob. Please help him stop being lazy.
[Ishimaru is getting one of these bad boys because it's cool as hell while being being an inoffensively traditional gift that doesn't presume too much in either direction. Old people and teachers like bonsai trees. Those are good odds Ishimaru might like it, too.
Ryuji hopes he appreciates how exhausting picking a nice, middle-of-the-road gift is for an offensive, drives-in-ditch person, THAT WAS HARD.]
i promised you this~ so here it is! ❤️ be sure to let me know what you think!
No More Words
I've always known the words to say the feelings in my heart, so do I truly need a poem?
It seems so simple to utter them, the words one two three.
But would they still have meaning?
Sometimes we're wandering the nighttime and someone must lift sun to sky to shine a beam of warmth onto the heart of the other.
Then perhaps we can see if life has always been there, encased in hardened shell with timid land abound, having no give for the chance at sprawling roots.
Maybe, with enough soft warmth and light mist, what's inside springs free of its bindings and has its petals greet the sun with open arms.
But why speak of flowers and sunshine and warmth when there's an easier way?
Thank you so much for sharing this poem with me! From the bottom of my heart, I thank you!
This poem is quite well-written, and it carries such a strong, heartfelt feeling with it. Each image you describe feels so vivid and lively. Overall, I would say that this is a well-constructed poem! I find that I love this very much!
[He figures that she's a poet. And poems are full of metaphors and hidden meaning! So it would probably be insulting to take anything in the poem at face value. And even moreso for the line she called special attention to! So, he'll have to study further to figure out what it really means!]
Thank you, Monika-kun! I will do my best to figure out the secret behind that line and make you proud!
I cannot say how much I appreciate this. This exercise will keep my mind occupied! [And keep him from dwelling on sad thoughts.]

I love you.
[ There! That should be obvious enough. ]

Is she...does she...HOW WAS THAT NOT OBVIOUS ENOUGH?? ]
you're welcome!
but
[ It takes a second for the next message to go through. She's in too much disbelief, so it's hard to type. ]
are you sure you don't want to read it again? maybe pay attention to a certain line of it??
[ LIKE. SHE CLEARLY SAID IT THIS TIME. RIGHT AT THE END! ]

But do not worry! I shall reread the poem comprehensively and try to find just the right line!
no subject
it's the last line
if you needed a hint
no subject
Now, I will take some time to study that line and its possible meanings! I will find the deeper metaphorical meaning, I promise!
no subject
wish you the best
[ At this point, she's thinking her original idea of writing "I love you" a million times wasn't that crazy. ]
